Yoshikawa Antibacterial PE Cutting Board - Medium (39x23cm)

A plain, well made polyethylene cutting board with antibacterial agents worked through the material itself rather than sprayed on the surface, so it stays effective as the board wears in.

The PE gives slightly under the blade instead of stopping it dead, unlike glass, bamboo or hard plastic, so a thin Japanese edge holds longer between sharpenings. A fine embossed texture keeps ingredients from sliding, and at 13mm thick it is light enough to lift one handed, rinse at the sink and stand up in a cupboard.

Yoshikawa works out of Tsubame in Niigata, the metalworking town that supplies a large share of Japan's kitchenware, applying traditional manufacturing knowledge to tools people use every day.

Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry properly. Not dishwasher safe, as dishwasher heat can warp the board permanently. Keep it away from flames and do not rest hot pans on it.
