The Knife Care Bundle pairs a 1000/3000 grit whetstone with base, guide clip and Nagura stone for achieving sharp edges, with a 10" black ceramic honing rod to maintain those edges between sharpening. Used correctly, the high-grit ceramic rod can double the time between sharpening, and its ceramic is wrapped around a shock-resistant rubber core to protect it if dropped.
