The more straightforward cousin of the spicy tin. Same big Porthos sardines, packed in sunflower oil with chilli and not much else, so the heat comes through clean and direct.

The brand is named after one of the Three Musketeers, and the little musketeer on the tin has been around since the late 1950s. What's inside is just as unfussy. Mash the sardines and some of the chilli oil onto hot toast, or tip the whole lot into a pan of spaghetti with lemon zest and toasted breadcrumbs.
