Cake Tester - Silver

The simplest way to know your cake's done without cutting into it. Slide the thin stainless steel pin into the centre of the cake. If it comes out clean, it's ready; if there's wet batter, give it a few more minutes. It leaves a much smaller hole than a skewer or knife, so your cake still looks the part when it comes out of the tin.

It's not just for baking, either. Chefs use cake testers to check fish, roasted vegies and slow-cooked meats. Pop it in, touch the tip to your lip or wrist, and you'll feel whether it's warm right through. Once you get the hang of it, you'll reach for it every day.
