Tsunehisa is a collaborative brand of makers from Sakai, Tosa, and other famous knifemaking regions of Japan. These knives draw on the expertise of each region in relation to their particular steel types. For example Tosa is known for their spectacular Ginsan, Sakai with carbon steels. The Tsunehisa brand represent exceptional value for money with fantastic fit and finish paired with the best knifemaking steels Japan has to offer.

Best paired with a 22cm felt lined blade guard and either a 1000/3000 or 1000/6000 whetstone

Ginsan is a fine-grained, high-carbon stainless steel by Hitachi Metals in Japan. In our opinion, it is the most underrated knifemaking steel and performs far above it's price point when heat treated well. It is a dream to sharpen, has edge retention similar to Blue 2 and does this without any real stress due to it's high stainless properties.
