Manufactured in Sakai, Japan, Sakai Takayuki knives are world renowned for their quality, durability, and precision. Sakai has a rich history of knife making, with the crafting of samurai swords in this area dating back over 600 years. Today, it is estimated that approximately 90% of Japanese chef knives come from Sakai.Master craftsman Mr. Keijiro Doi oversees the operations, as does his son Itsuo Doi, Keido Sugihara, and Yukinori Oda.

They offer a large variety of knives in all shapes and forms, and using 17, 33, and 63 Layer Damascus Steel, Blue and White steels, they manufacture knives of the highest quality to suit any application.These Kurokage line of knives have been coated with a Fluorine Resin which provides anti-stick properties when preparing food (and looks great too). They are paired with a Wenge Timber and Buffalo Horn handle to make for a very visually striking piece with great practical applications.
