Former machinist turned Bladesmith Niko Nicolaides works in his studio near Detroit forging his own Damascus and trying to push boundaries in culinary knives. These are, without a doubt, the finest custom knives we have ever got our hands on. The craftsmanship is like no other, the joins between handle and integral bolster are clean and seamless, blades dead straight and true, grinds spectacular, and aesthetics off the charts. Truly collectors pieces.

STEEL BREAKDOWN – Niko uses high carbon steel (1084 & 15N20) to forge his Damascus, which is then etched with chemicals to give it’s wild appearance. These edges will hold for a long time, but will need to be wiped with oil between uses to prevent rust. They will also develop patinas over time.
